The best argan oil is produced in Morocco so that's where we get ours. Quality argan trees and their superior oils are so esteemed and endemic to Morocco that UNESCO has included Moroccan argan practices and know-how into its Intangible Cultural Heritage Program. Locals use it to dip bread and drizzle on couscous or pasta, but in Europe and USA, we've come to appreciate argan's value as a cosmetic oil.
Argan oil has a high content of antioxidants, fatty acids and Vitamin E, all excellent for skin and hair care. It's quick penetration provides extremely gentle, nonirritating moisture to scalp and hair, provides protection from the sun, and damage caused by hot styling tools. A non-irritated, well moisturized scalp is the best defense against dandruff. Plus, the quality of argan (called liquid wax) promotes hair shine and gloss and helps fight frizz by penetrating hair shafts and giving the appearance of mending split ends. Hair feels more manageable. Argan is also used as a facial oil, oil cleanse, cuticle oil, bath oil, and split end mender, overnight hair treatment, acne and scar healer, and for face and body moisture retention. Studies show that argan can help lock moisture into skin, specifically the mature skin of postmenopausal women who found that with daily application, argan oil resulted in a higher water content within their skin. Other studies have shown that argan oil can help skin repair itself, another vital function for skin to keep looking youthful longer. See for yourself, there's a reason argan is the oil in premium shampoo bars.
For thousands of years, lavender has been used for purification. In fact, the word lavender literally means "to be washed" or "to wash". During World War I lavender was widely used for cleansing wounds and cleaning in hospitals. Like all plants, there are many different species of lavender and some are better suited for certain applications than others. We use a beautiful steam distilled lavandin in this shampoo bar because of its higher percentage of the molecule camphor which increases purifying properties. Lavandin is a cross between Lavandula angustifolia (true lavender) and Lavandula latifolia (spike lavender). Lavender's therapeutic properties are famous around the world and its aroma is heavenly. Suffice to say, lavender is a powerful tonic for your whole system.
Sweet orange is another therapeutic powerhouse. Our essential oil is usually 5- or 10-fold — the best we can find — and always cold pressed from the peel. It's sweet, sugary scent blends effortlessly with lavender and its respiratory, digestive, immune and circulatory benefits are well documented.
Apply directly to wet hair and lather up! We worked hard to source the highest quality ingredients, then blend our formulations to withstand saponification, keeping as much natural integrity of each ingredient as possible. Please notice the difference in our 100% all natural, pure argan lather: our lather is smaller, tighter, creamery and denser, making our shampoo better at penetrating all the folds, cracks and crevasses of skin and scalp for a superior cleanse. Massage scalp gently but thoroughly and use on face and body, too, if you choose. Argan soaps are luxurious and addictive!
Depending of use, shampoo bars should last about a month, longer if you don't use them every day. Allow soaps to dry between use.
