This rose hip is NOT for the faint of heart and not any kind of "regular joe" oil. It is extraordinary, and such power requires restraint. Our rose hip oil comes from the seeds of a specific variety of wildcrafted rose grown on the slopes on the Southern Andes in Chili, Rosa rubiginosa.

We are starting with only 7 four-ounce bottles of this nutrient dense face and body oil. It is bright orange and will absolutely turn your skin yellow for 10 full minutes. It will stain your pillow case and your pajamas if you crawl in bed before it's absorbed. It smells sour like smashed nut: raw, feral, and untethered from modern cosmetic scents that skew sweet. This batch of rose hip oil is a real pain in the neck, and absolutely worth it!

Color and scent are removed when oils are refined, but so are vitamins and minerals. Plus, sometimes the refining process adds trace elements of chemicals to a product. No such contamination has happened here. This is true, pure, unadulterated rose hip oil, cold pressed from mature rose hips that are choke full of nutrients your skin and body will use.

Wildcrafting is a process of harvest pruning, which when practiced knowingly never exploits or diminishes wild plant communities but instead supports and enhances them. These plants have been grown wild in nature without human intervention. They haven't been irrigated or treated with pesticides or fertilizers. It's survival of the fittest in the plant world, and as survivors, wildcrafted plants develop with the stress of nature to "be all that they can be." They have naturally and fully evolved into the most pure expression of their species.

Wildcrafted rose hip oil has been used for generations by the Andean Indians of Chile because it has amazing skin rejuvenating and hair conditioning properties. It's especially effective on sensitive skin. Today, rose hip oil is one of the most highly recommended organic health and beauty products available.

The oil's anti-aging benefits derive from its high levels of antioxidants and the oil's ability to penetrate deep layers of the skin. It's high in Vitamin A, which is known to increase elastin levels and promote collagen. Elastin and collagen delay the signs of aging. Rose hip oil is also known for its ability to regenerate cell renewal. It's high in essential fatty acids, Vitamin E, linoleum, and linolenic acids, all of which are proven to promote healthy skin. It's a perfect skin hydration tool. Rose hip oil makes skin glow. The scent and color of the oil varies from harvest to harvest. We've seen rose hip oils that are almost clear and we've seen harvest oils that are dark amber. A pungent, dark oil is nutrient dense; it's not rancid. It's normal for oils to change from year to year -- that's the glory of nature.
