Read Ingredient Lists

Every bar of sammysoap benefits those who suffer from eczema or psoriasis because the alternatives so often contains ingredients that trigger flare ups. We ask you to consider that your immune system may be at war with your products. Synthetics are built into our homes, work places, and even in our cars, and though environments may remain beyond our control, we can control what we put on our skin. Skin is the largest human organ and it is permeable. Why would you put anything on your skin that you wouldn't put in your mouth?

Chemicals of Concern

If your skin is sensitive, the first small step toward health is to baby it. You will never find ingredients in our products on any Chemicals of Concern watch lists. These are the lists of harmful ingredients that have been banned from use in skincare products around much of the rest of the world. Check out Sean Penn's documentary on Netflix called the 'Human Experiment', which examines the relationship between the chemical revolution and human health. Avoid all synthetic ingredients in skincare products, especially fragrance. "Fragrance" is propriety, which means that manufacturers aren't required to disclose its ingredients. As shoppers became better informed ingredient consumers, fragrance became the dumping ground for everything manufacturers didn't want you to see. Fragrance: there can be one hundred ingredients behind that word. Don't use it. Incidentally, avoiding fragrance has zero to do with eliminating scent.

No artificial Anything

Rely on fresh 100% all natural soaps and skincare products. You must see the words together: 100% all natural. Just like food, "processed" products require stabilizers and preservatives. Eliminate detergents, sudsing agents, and dyes from skincare products. Body washes and shower gels are mostly water, and water-based ingredients require stabilizers and inhibitors to restrict the growth of bacteria and fungi. Don't wash or moisturize skin with alcohol- and petroleum-based products.
