Business and property owners were recognized for their leadership in property improvement and received an engraved plaque at the Downtown Kirkwood Annual Meeting of the Members held at Kirkwood Station Brewing Company on February 23, 2016. Recipients of the Kirkwood Special Business District Enhancement Awards were John Jackson Neighborhood Real Estate at 105 East Argonne Drive, McArthur’s Bakery Café at 210 N. Kirkwood Road and Sammysoap at 123 West Argonne Drive.
On behalf of the Kirkwood City Council, Kirkwood Mayor Arthur McDonnell presented the Downtown Kirkwood organization with a proclamation congratulating the Special Business District on 40 years of collective enhancements, business promotion and community improvements. February 23, 2016 was proclaimed Kirkwood Special Business District Day.
